Our Story
Traditional Trades was established in 1998 as a cooperative, then partnership, and now, a corporation. Owner, Paul Mouré, came into Traditional Trades with the knowledge of running a successful landscaping business from the age of 19.
It’s important to Paul to have an ‘old school’ approach with clients, ensuring he is available to address any questions or concerns clients and contractors may have.
Paul cares; for his employees and their families, his clients, his fellow contractors, suppliers, architects, and designers. He believes for a job to run smoothly respect needs to happen from all avenues of the job.
Our work is in Ottawa and the surrounding areas. Traditional Trades encompasses all aspects of masonry from residential to commercial work. We specialize in natural stone, brick, heritage masonry restoration and rehabilitation in both commercial and residential settings.
We contract with multiple local and national contractors, along with reputable builders including; Cada Construction, Roca Homes, Thomas Fuller Construction Company, Louis W. Bray Construction and Cruickshank Construction. Additionally, we work directly with prominent architecture firms such as Barry Hobin working alongside multiple designers to ensure their vision becomes a reality.
Some of our recent contracts with Parks Canada have included the restoration and rehabilitation of the UNESCO World Heritage Rideau Canal.
Our Values
Our company’s head office located in Smiths Falls, ON. We carry a team of 16-20 employees year-round.
Traditional Trades began with the initiative to educate tradespeople and remains to be a teaching company. We believe It is important for experienced masons to share their knowledge and experience with new masons in order to preserve the respected trade. It is very important to us that we continue to run the company with this philosophy.
Our approach is quality without compromise. It is important for us to ensure that every client is confident when choosing Traditional Trades, from the first meeting to the last day of the project. We want to walk away with our client’s security that we have completed the project with the highest of standards in every way.
